Enterprise License Support in 6.4 for Office 2013

Postby dcmattinson » Wed Dec 31, 2014 7:11 pm

I have recently downloaded and installed
the Community Edition of Sense/Net 6.4.

I have Microsoft Office 2013 installed on my machine.

While exploring the demo application:
- Budapest Project Workspace
while logged in as:
- admin
I dropped down the action list for the document:
- Business Plan.docx
and did not see the action:
- Edit in Microsoft Office
as listed at the top of the page.

On reading the item there,
only Microsoft 2007 and 2010 are referenced.

Also, while poking around I found a message
saying that another feature was only supported
for versions of Internet Explorer under 11
and I have Windows 11 installed on my machine.

Are these items supported under the Enterprise Licence ?

Also, on the Web page opened by
the Document Preview action
for the same document
has a tag on it that says:
- only supported under the Sense/Net Enterprise License

Is there somewhere that I can get a list
of everything that is included under both:
- the Community Edition / License ?
- the Enterprise Edition / License ?

Thanks

Hi David,

you can learn more about the differences between community and enterprise licensenses in this article:
http://wiki.sensenet.com/index.php?title=Differences_between_Community_and_Enterprise_editions_-_version_6.4

Microsoft Office 2013 is also supported it's only missing from the demo workspace's text at the top of the page, check this article about office support in SenseNet:http://wiki.sensenet.com/index.php?title=Managing_Documents_from_Microsoft_Office

I hope I could help!

The version comparison Web page was helpful.

I also read the second Web page you recommended.

However, I am still not able to either:
- Edit in Microsoft Office
- menu item appears but is greyed out
- Open in Windows Explorer
- Message box comes up saying:
- This feature only works in Internet Explorer versions earlier than 11.

I am not sure whether this is due to:
- permission conflicts between:
- Sense/Net Demo account permissions
- actual account permissions on the machine
however, this does not actually appear to be
a licensing-related question
so I will look for an answer in a topic / thread
with a discussion of the Demo applications.

Unfortunately Microsoft doesn't support open webdav folders from the browser in version Internet Explorer 11
But you can map SenseNet Content Repository or a subtree to a network drive
